NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Alliant Insurance Services, the nation’s largest specialty insurance brokerage firm, has named Steve Sampiere as its new Chief Information Officer (CIO). The 35-year technology veteran will direct a breadth of initiatives focusing on innovation, security, and facilities as the company expands its national reach and product offerings.
“Over the years, Steve has added significant value to Alliant as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), building a strong IT team and retooling our technology platform to support stellar growth,” said Tom Corbett, Chairman and CEO of Alliant. “With technology playing an increasingly vital role in our company, Steve’s strong technical background and deep understanding of our organization will serve him well in this expanded role.”
In his new role, Sampiere will focus on furthering the company’s technology strategy and bolstering its security posture, while overseeing client-facing technology initiatives and facilities management.
As Alliant’s CTO, Sampiere played a central role in transforming the company’s technology infrastructure amid significant organizational growth. His leadership led to integrated systems, enhanced data security, and standardized best practices across Alliant’s national network. This resulted in increased organization-wide efficiencies and the unification of many disparate systems and platforms.
Prior to joining Alliant, Sampiere developed a diverse skill set working for firms inside and outside the realm of technology, including IBM, Callaway Golf, Intuit, and Peregrine Semiconductor.
Sampiere takes the reins of CIO from Ilene Anders, who assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer in September 2015. Sampiere will continue to work closely with Anders on a wide range of corporate technology initiatives.
“In my years working alongside Steve, he demonstrated the ability to meld cutting-edge thinking with practical and efficiency-driven solutions,” said Anders. “His contributions will be instrumental in solidifying our position as one of the insurance industry’s most innovative companies.”
Alliant is the nation’s 12th-largest insurance brokerage and continues to expand its footprint through ongoing acquisitions and organic growth. The company was recently named to the prestigious InformationWeek Elite 100 list recognizing America’s top business technology innovators on the strength of its client portals and mobile technologies.
